I'm launching a new writing group in June!

This month I'm launching a new writing group! This group will meet monthly in person (!!) in downtown Durham every fourth Thursday from 10am-12:30pm. Our first meeting is June 22nd.

Open to creative nonfiction writers (personal essay, memoir), this monthly group is designed to offer support and accountability, and we will also talk craft, and learn how to better workshop each other's work.

This group is ideal for dedicated writers looking for more continuity and accountability than a short class can offer, or who want additional support while they tend to an ongoing writing practice or delve into a longterm work like a memoir or series of essays.

This group is also ideal for writers who feel ready to receive detailed feedback from an MFA-educated instructor as well as their peers. Or writers who just want guaranteed time in their month to talk about all things writing and be in community with other dedicated writers. 

I require a 6 month commitment so that we can build the trust and continuity that I believe is necessary for workshop. Four writers have already committed, and there are two more spaces available.

This group will be accepting new members during two admission windows per year. The next time this group will be accepting new members is in January of 2024.
