Want to Workshop with Me?
Hi writers,
The fall is such an exciting time to take on new projects and have new experiences.
I'm currently offering two ongoing opportunities to work with me and they are different and yet perfect complements to each other.
Durham Writers' Salon - every Thursday evening
The generative Durham Writers’ Salon takes place virtually every Thursday evening from 8:00pm - 9:00pm ET and is open to writers from beginner to advanced, in any genre. It's a playful and low-stakes time to create, begin new projects, experiment with ideas, play with words and phrases, cross things out and move toward a completed work of art.
Those interested in the weekly Salon: drop in anytime. I’ll provide you with two prompts, set time to write and an opportunity to share and learn from each other. Purchase tickets on my website here and I’ll send a Zoom link to your email the day of the Salon.
Yes, this is my living, but right now I recognize our need for community is more important than anything else.
So for the next six months I am offering a sliding scale option for payment if you're interested in the Durham Writers’ Salon - contact me directly for more information.
Monday Night Writing Workshop - biweekly on Mondays
As of October 2021 I have two spots open in my Monday Night Writing Workshop. This Workshop is open to women working in fiction or nonfiction, and takes place biweekly on Monday evenings from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. This is a time to go deeper with your work, finish things, revise, get feedback. This workshop is a great opportunity for writers who want the rigor of an MFA experience, but who might not have the means or opportunity.
Those interested in the biweekly workshop: come to a free introductory session! You’ll have the opportunity to meet the other members, take part in the workshop and ask questions.
These offerings are both integral parts of the writing process and I am so pleased that I have these two opportunities to offer to local and non local writers.
If there’s a class offering that you don’t see here, but that you’d like to take, please don’t hesitate to speak up! I’d love to hear your ideas.
Happy writing,
Allison
