Word*play has a new time! Wednesdays from noon- 1pm ET. Join us!
Hi writers,
As we enter spring I am reflecting on the past few months. In January I rejoined a co-working space for the first time in 3 years (!!), which has brought a burst of fresh energy to my routine. I placed 2nd in the Rose Post Creative Nonfiction competition, juried by writer Julia Ridley Smith and sponsored by the North Carolina Writers' Network.
I taught another 7 week session of Intro to Memoir at the Durham Arts Council with a vibrant group of writers creating interesting, varied work. I continued to watch the writers in my Monday Night Writers workshop grow, a process that leaves me in awe every time. And in between, lots of reading and writing and learning. I hope you've been reading and writing and learning, too.
I'm also writing to let you know that Word*play is moving to a new time. Word*play will now take place on Wednesdays from noon-1pm ET(September through May).
This hour-long, generative (meaning that we are generating new material) session is open to all adult writers! Any genre, any level of experience. Maybe we've worked together before, or maybe not. Maybe you're a fiction writer, or maybe you usually write nonfiction. Maybe you want to share your work, or maybe you just want to listen. Anyone is welcome.
The reason for the time change? I was beginning to get tired of a week full of evening commitments. Maybe you are too? I am also wondering if a lunchtime session might be a good fit for folks who work part time, are beginning retirement, or may be able to make some time during work for their writing practice.
The next session is Wednesday, March 29th. Come join us! Purchase tickets by 5pm on Tuesday and I'll send you an email with a Zoom link by 8am on the day of the session.
Purchase one session or 5 sessions for added accountability (and an even better value). You can read more about the offering here.
I hope to see you there!
Allison
